Atlanta Bars to Stay Open Til 4?

In 2003, the Atlanta City Council voted to change the bar closing time from 4am to 2:30am.  Since then, “the bars have been dropping like flies” and much nightlife business has been lost to neighboring towns in counties like DeKalb and Cobb.  Now the city council is looking to roll back the clocks to 4am again– but just as an experiment, and just in the Edgewood-Auburn Avenue area, to see if it helps boost the city’s economy.  Would you like the bars to go back to 4am? And as one apt reader asks, Why aren’t they trying it at Midtown, L5P or Virginia Highlands?
