While I was mentally planning the laundry room re-do, I thought that I could definitely use some painting tips. I painted a kelly green wall in my old apartment bedroom which turned out beautiful, but I waited until the paint dried to remove the painters’ tape (rookie mistake) and spent the hours that followed touching up the neighboring walls. The DIY Network has great advice about interior painting and here are five tips I gathered from their article:
Doing-It-Myself: The Laundry Room

I’m about to start re-vamping my laundry room. It’s one of the only spaces in the house without paint (and I found a gallon of the kitchen green hiding in the garage–unopened) and I plan on changing that. It has the standard (and dreadful) metal white shelving that came with the house, which we are currently using to house various pairs of shoes (our Schnauzer‘s a chewer). I’m thinking that I need to get a cart to go between the machines for storage (I like this one), a new shelf, some paint and a piece of artwork or some frames. As you can see, I’m in the beginning stages (like square 0 as opposed to 1, really). Does anyone have any recommendations? It’s going to take awhile, but I have confidence in my abilities, however novice.

Design Minds Update: I Need(ed) A Rug!
leave a commentHey there PROMOVE Design Minds! Well, I finally got a rug for my dining room. I found it at World Market on sale for $245 (for a 6×9, that is a great price). I think the teal really warms up the room and complements the Monet print well. What do you guys think?
